Hey Everyone,

My case is a little complicated, but the issue is rather simple. I have a valid Work Permit for and a job offer but did not have work Visa (received the work permit on border office using my existing visit visa which was cancelled by the agent when she issued me work permit - she said I needed to re-apply and get a new TRV with "worker" specified).

Anyway, I applied for a TRV for myself and spouse on the 30th of January, 2013. Received a request for Wife's medical on the 7th of February (only her medical, not mine). We completed the medical immediately but when I checked with Doctor's office they said they sent out the medical on 21st of February. Now we have been waiting.

I have emailed them twice (two weeks apart) with the latest email about 4 days ago. But I get no response from them. In the second email I said if they dont have a status then please just let me know that they have the passports and are processing and nothing is pending on my end so I know my passports aren't lost in mail (my concern is that they perhaps may want my medical too, even though they haven't yet requested it, but then again, Wife came to US recently and I have been in US for past 11 years and have visited Canada before as a visitor). No response.

My question is, has anyone had luck trying to go to the consulate in order to get status after excessive delay? My wait has exceeded the 14 days specified on the immigration central website and has exceeded the 30 days specified on the local consulate website.

Please let me know!

Thanks

I think you have rethink "excessive delay" medical evaluation by IRMC in Ottawa takes 3/4 weeks before results are available to Visa Office. Plus if you look at their web site, the minimum processing time is 30 days, if you are from a scheduled country add another 10 days.

PMM thanks for the response and it gives me hope thinking that it is still in limit. However please note when I state that I got a confirmation from the Doctor's office that they had mailed ALL results (including blood and X-Ray) to the visa office on the 21st of February. So it has been over 30 days after that. I guess 10 additional days would mean I can expect to hear something in next couple of weeks.

Thanks
