Hi everyone, I didn't have any luck getting a response in the "Settlement Issues" or "Finding Work in Canada" forums, so it was suggested I try here considering you are all experts with regards to assessing your skills and qualifications!

My parter has his PR Visa (obtained via the family class route) and we're planning to land in about 3 months so we're assembling a list of documentation to take with us. My question is with regards to the degree(s) my partner has and whether we should have sort of formal evaulation of his credentials vs. Canadian standards. He has a Masters degree in economics from a Dutch University in the Netherlands (will be looking for marketing position - non-regulated profession). The degree is also printed in the English language so it's not necessary to have it translated. Can anyone advise whether we should have sort of formal evaluation of his qualifications considering he will be looking for work in a non-regulated profession? Can anyone share experiences about whether employers have asked for this when looking for work? Any advice would be appreciated!
Cheers,

well it is always better to have them evaluated in canaian equivalence.. whenevr you apply for a job you are in a better position to speak confidently about your education.. and why give any employer a chance to reject you on basis of "unrecognised education" ... we can show them the equivalance certificates and speak in the canadian terms that they understand

try wes or iqas etc. depending on province you would be landing in.. hardly takes 300-400 dollars. not a bad investment i would say
