hi all I recently got a new passport and didn’t realize I needed to apply for a new eta, I went to the airport and they wouldn’t let me board the flight. I have been offered a job in Vancouver and got accepted for an ETA a couple of years ago. Does anybody know with me already having an eta will the eta come through quicker? I also made a mistake on my application I ticked no criminal past by accident I have had issues in the past that have all resulted in no convictions. Thanks for any help.

An eTA can be granted in minutes. Others have been refused boarding, applied for an eTA using the Internet at the airport and then successfully boarded. However, if your case is more complex, it can take days to get a response.
One other thing. If you were granted a visa as a worker, you wouldn't have needed an eTA. Have you gone through the process of applying for a Work Permit etc?
