Good evening :),

I am about to apply for eTA but I am worried that it will be denied because in 2010, when I was 14 my mom and I tried to enter the U.S. illegally and got deported right away. Will this affect me getting the eTA? I appreciate all answers. I am currently 22 and studying a bachelor's degree in English teaching and my interest for going to Canada is for an English course offered through a scholarship from my university.

It was a long time ago and you should be OK. Make sure you declare the deportation in your eTA application.
