Error on TRV Sticker inside passport

Hi all,

I am an international student in Canada and recently had to apply to extend my status here. I had applied for my TRV from inside Canada and just received my passport back.

The new Visa sticker mentions the category as V-1, Visitor. My old visa sticker used to have the category S-1, Student. I am wondering if there was an error on the immigration officer's part or if this is correct?

It's normal. There's no issue.

My other international student friends have S-1 Student as their category as well. Thats why I am concerned

When did you send your passport to them and when did they return it?

I think there might be an error. Please seek proper advice. I learned v-visa does not come with a work permit. While the s-visa comes with automatic work permit.

The reason I asked of your timeline was that I sent my passport to IRCC on the 30th of December 2021, but I still not received it back.
