Hi guys, I just want to ask regarding some mistakes my wife found on her COPR when she received it today. First, there's a mistake in Sponsor's middle name, "one letter" is missing in it (example: "CRUZ" , they wrote "CRU" ) . Second, place of birth of my wife was lacking some letters. Say for example, the correct one is " Canada", but they wrote in COPR, " Cana" so its incomplete.

Is it ok if she lands in Canada and just tell the border officer about the mistakes?

Any suggestions or insights from you guys will be highly appreciated! Thank you in advance!

perhaps that's how they write canada on the copr? my guess is there is only so many letters that are allowed in that space. as for the middle name, if it's not the applicant, i'm not sure it's anything to worry about. if it is the applicant, then she needs to FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS listed on the COPR and notify her visa office to get it fixed. let them decide if it's worth fixing or not. the last thing you want to happen is to get to the border and not be allowed in because the information on the COPR does not match what is in the passport.

You should send it back to your VO, name and birth place must match your passport exactly when you land

The only mistakes that can be amended at the boarder are things like eye colour and height...

play it safe......write to VO with an explanation. It might slow things down a bit but you will have pace of mind. :)

If her total name is greater than 35 characters, 15 in Given and middle total, they will truncate the middle name.

"The PR Card has a space limitation of 20 characters (letters) for last names (family names) and 15 characters for given names (first and middle names). If your name is longer, the name on the PR card will automatically be shortened to the first 20 and 15 characters respectively. This is not an error and the PR card cannot be modified to include more characters."
