I applied for PR last year under Express Entry Federal Skilled Workers from the US. It was still in progress when I moved to Canada on a Work Permit last month. I have since received the Passport Request for my PR application and have submitted it. My concern is that the processing time for a new PR card is over 4 months currently but I have to travel to India in December to see family. In case I don't receive the PR card before I leave, what are my options to return to Canada? Is it possible to use my Work Permit to come back or will my only option be to apply for the PR travel document?
If it's the latter, as far as I can tell, I don't meet the Residency Obligation to apply for the PRTD.
