Hi All,

I have a valid visit visa (issued long ago) as well as a just issued PR visa on my passport. I need to land before Apr 2015. However, I want to visit Canada during Nov 2014, but dont want to "land". Is it possible ??...If yes, can you please confirm and let me know what needs to be done / not done at the airport ?

Much appreciated.
Thanks

Yes, it is possible to use the visit visa up until you become a permanent resident, at which time it is automatically voided. However, you are subject to the same restrictions as a visitor and can be refused entry at the border, just like anyone else.

Thanks Zardoz. Good to know that this is legally allowed. I've scanned the CIC website, but couldnt find any answer to this question.

Is there anything specific that needs to be told / not told to the Immigration / Customs officer at the airport while entering Canada ? Is it ok to just tell them that I'll be landing on a later trip ?
Do you know anybody who experienced this situation ?

Thanks
