Dear Friends,

I'm coming to canada mid of July and I've been away for about 7 months, Is there any issue i might face from the immigration officer in the airport ????

I came to Canada last October and studied ESL for about 3 months and had to leave for personal reasons back home.

Now I want to come back and continue the study and my study permit is still valid till beginning of Novermber.

Pls advise me, I'm so worried,,

Thanks

You won't have any trouble in entering canada again since you possess valid study permit and TRV up to 1-11-14***
No problems regarding to it!
You now go to Canada and apply for extension of study permit 3 months prior to the expiry stating the reason why you want it to be extended!!****
I hope this should help you ..
Thank you..

Yes, there could be troubles. You DROPPED the course and according to new rules you lost your SP 4 months ago. How an officer will look at it- according to the new rules or to the old ones (becuase you got your SP before the new rules)- who knows?

Arrange a solicitor before you land so that he can grant you entry clearance with the help of immigration law thats only the option

Thanks for replying,

But when i read the CIC today it says that this new rules are not applied for who got his SP before 1st of June,,

I copied as per the CIC website,, What you think ??

Note: Under the new rules, your study permit will become invalid 90 days after you have completed your study program. If you switch to a shorter-term program or finish your studies early, your study permit will expire 90 days after your study program has been completed. Your program is considered complete when you receive written notification of program completion (for example, a transcript or an official letter) from your institution or once you obtain your degree, diploma or certificate. This does not apply to you if your study permit application was received before June 1, 2014, or if you were issued a study permit before June 1, 2014.

Incorrect. You are adding 2 different things together. Section 222 of 16 of IRPR Act is applicable in all cases (including yours).

222. (1) A study permit becomes invalid upon the first to occur of the following days:
(a) the day that is 90 days after the day on which the permit holder completes their studies,

"20. Despite section 16, section 222 of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, as it read immediately before the day on which these Regulations come into force, continues to apply in respect of a temporary resident whose application for a study permit is received before that day or to whom a study permit has been issued before that day, for the duration of that permit."
