Hi! I am currently waiting for my PR application to be approved. Everything seems to be going well so far. Here's my timeline for reference:
ITA: Aug 19, 2021
AOR: Aug 24, 2021
Medicals Passed (New): Sep 23, 2021
Biometrics: Sep 27, 2021
I got a procedural fairness letter on Nov. 4 because I failed to provide documents that stated the original start date for my job position (my employer did not include that part on the employment letter), but I asked for another employment letter and submitted that one + payslips for that period, so I guess it should be ok.
Now, my original concern:
(1) I am planning to travel in December to my home country, but I read somewhere around here that if my PR application is approved my current work permit would be canceled, and I wouldn't be able to re-enter Canada without a PR card - is this correct?
(2) I hold a 2nd citizenship which allows me to enter Canada only with an eTA - can I apply for an eTA with my 2nd passport and enter Canada again if my PR application is approved and they cancel my work permit?
(3) I also read that if (1) is correct and (2) is not possible, I should apply for a PRTD from my home country - the thing is there are no Canadian embassies/consulates in my home country, only in neighboring ones... so I would have to apply from other places. Do you think that if I applied for the PRTD, the process would be longer than a month or 2? or is it a fairly quick process? (I know not a lot of people would know this, just trying my luck here)
Thank you very much for reading my post! Will appreciate any feedback.
