Entering canada on a tourist visa while IEC application pending

Hi, I’m applying for a young professional visa but I was wondering if I can go to Canada on a tourist visa and wait for my visa over there ? I haven’t received an invitation to apply yet, Im just in the pools . Thanks

Sure you can although you will need to flagpole at a land border to activate along with meeting the insurance/funds requirement and of course no guarantee you will get a visit authorised long enough for your application POE letter to be issued. You need to be wary about whether your country has any requirement that you need to be in your home country at time of application.

Also I do not recall any notice seeing the 2019 season being opened yet so if you were in the 2018 pool believe you would need to create a new profile entry for the 2019 pool when open.
