Entering canada during covid19

Dear friends,
My father has multiple visa and he has been to canada few times. He was planing to come and visit me in April but his flight canceled. The airlines change his ticket for June but I wonder if he can enter canada as he is not canadian citizen. Any one can help if you have information about father visiting son during Covid19? I know that he has to stay home for 14 days but can he enter Canada? Thank you.

Believe such a visit would be considered non essential so not even able to board a flight so probably best to consider deferring the ticket given unlikely travel conditions will change in next few months

Would likely be considered non essential. Most travel medical insurance no longer covers covid so Canada does not want extra visitors in Canada who may bring covid to Canada but also use our health system for free.

I heard that no one is allowed to come to canada unless they have essential purpose but In IRCC website says that the close family members like parents of canadian citizens are allowed to travel to Canada and they are exception of Canada band. Any one have any idea if my father can enter to canada or not? Im confused

Those close family members still have to have an essential purpose to be able to enter Canada.

So if your father's purpose isn't essential, he will very likely be turned away.

I know of people recently who made it up to Toronto-Pearson but were still made to go back because they weren't allowed to enter Canada.

High likelihood he will be refused either boarding or entry.

Hi guys, my question is about the chance of granting visitor visa during these tough days and your opinion is highly appreciated.
Consider a case that there is no essential purpose but exception as close family member of a Canadian citizen can be proved. So, do you think if it's wise to apply for a visitor visa now or the chance of approval of visa is very low due to pandemic?
