Hi everyone !

I'm an international student from Israel studying in Quebec for the past 6 years. I'm in the United States right now, my CAQ and study permit expired while in Canada and my last status in Canada was as a visitor, and I have applied for a new CAQ (after the old expired). I plan on driving back to Montreal this weekend directly from the USA.

My problem: the new CAQ has not been approved yet (although the international student office is sure it will be by early next week).

Since I have an Israeli passport, which allows entry into Canada without student visa (CAQ or study permit), does anyone know if it's possible for me to enter the country, and return to the border (US/Canada) to pick up my renewed CAQ (I am not taking any courses at the moment -- in fact I have finished my studies and am returning for my thesis defence which will be held in late March 2017).

Please help, I really don't want to miss my flight, but I also don't want to be refused entry at the airport! Wink

Thank you !

Malak

Isn't the CAQ letter available online once approved??

I was allowed to apply for the study permit with the letter that was online. The hard copy I received in the mail was basically the same thing.
