Entering Canada as a permanent resident

Hi everyone ,

I am planning on re-entering Canada in either December or January. I hold a Permanent Resident Card and also my Permant Resident Status. My Card will expire in March of 2014. Is it true that I will have problems entering Canada with my Permanent Resident Card if my card expires in less than 3 months or can I enter Canada anytime before it expires?

There is no problem as long as it is valid on the date you enter.
Also you will need to show that you are able to meet the residency requirements of PR by living in Canada 2 out of last 5 years. If you will not be able to meet this criteria, then immigration officer may report you and you could have a hearing to revoke PR status.
