Hello everybody,
I’d appreciate your help on my situation.
Basically I have one question, could you (is it legal) to enter Canada with a valid student visa and study permit while you’ve already accomplished your study?
I’ve a 2 year student visa and study permit, though I finished my post-secondary studies in one year. I’m working now (with my off-campus work permit which is valid till next year) and want to apply for post-graduate work permit. But, I’m planning to visit home in 2.5 month from now. And I guess I don’t have enough time to get the post grad permit and then get a new TRV on time.
I’m wondering if you can enter Canada, with my original student visa and study permit. Hopefully, I can have my post-graduate work permit with myself by then.
Thanks for helping me out.

I think you should be OK as long as your status in Canada is still the same. I'd advise you to ask the International Students' Office at your university - they will give you a definite answer.

What will be your response to immigration at Airport if they ask you about your visit during an academic timing and not during an expected summer or Christmas breaks?

Thanks guys,
Well I'm planning to leave on chrismas breaks, from mid December to early Jan. for 3 weeks. The fact is I'm working full time right now and most probably I'll get my post graduate work permit soon.
I have to tell them that I've finished my studies and now working with my post grad work permit.
Though, I'm not sure, when one have Post grad work permit, he should apply for a work visa or can enter Canada with a valid Student visa..!?
Thanks for your reply.
