Hello,
I'm an international student from Germany studying in Quebec for the past 5 years. I'm in Germany right now, my CAQ and study permit expired after I left Canada, and I have applied for a new one (before the old expired). I plan on flying back to Montreal next week directly from London/UK to Montreal.
My problem: the new CAQ and study permit have not been approved yet. In fact, the CAQ requires more documents and study permit was refused because I have no renewed CAQ. The international student office is certain both CAQ and study permit will be renewed, but it might take more time than my scheduled flight.
Since I have a German passport, which allows entry into Canada without study permit, does anyone know if it's possible for me to enter the country (and not miss my flight!), and return to the border (US/Canada) to pick up my renewed study permit (I am not taking summer courses, in fact I have finished my studies and am returning for my thesis defense which will be held in June/July).
Please help, I really don't want to miss my flight, but I also don't want to be refused entry at the airport!
Thanks,
Schmiles
