Enquiry about Accompaying Person

Hi, I am an international student from India and my mom would like to travel with me to Canada just to check on my accommodation and university. Does this mean she is an accommpaying person even if it's only for a max of 3 weeks? Should i tick the accompanying person box in the family form in this case?

I don't think you should include her in your application, as she would not be accompanying you for the duration of your studies. Let her apply for a TRV separately.

ETA:Your mum is also not considered as family/close relative by IRCC's definition.
