This might be a dumb question...

My friend and I were talking, her husband is going for citizenship so I have been helping her with forms and such. We came across the statement of needing a high school diploma to prove that her husband can speak/write English. I had to pause for a minute as my husband has a GED, not a diploma as he was forced to drop out (due to the fact his family was struggling for money at the time, he had to get a job). So I'm curious, does a GED work or will we have to shell out 400-500 dollars just so someone can say that a man from Nashville, TN speaks English?! ???

Immigration, you are too confusing! :-\

Hey There,

I think GED will definitely be enough. It is certainly the equivalent of the OSSD or American High School Diploma. It might be worth to call the call centre to find out for sure though.

Cheers!
