Please tell me that we don't have to take the test if we come from an English speaking country? Seems crazy, when we also have passed high school exams in English to prove it as well. We have also been living in Canada for over a year now.

You still need to take IELTS. This is because of people who have tried to cheat the system in the past claiming they shouldn't have to take IELTS and instead turning in glowing reference letters supporting their good English skills and then showing up if called for interviews hardly speaking a word so immigration decided fair is fair and everybody should have to take it.

I, too, have English as my first and only language. In fact, both of my parents were English teachers when they met and married.

Yet...I, too, had to take IELTS. If one applicant has to take IELTS or CELPIP (or TEF for French), then it's only fair that all applicants have to take it.
