Hello everyone,

Myself is Gaurav. I am working in the feild of "IT Audit" for more than 6 years.

I want to apply for permanent residence under the following category

>>>> 1111 Financial Auditors and Accountants - COMPUTER AUDIT SPECIALIST

The point I am concerned about is my formal education, as the infomation provided by CIC (http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/NOC/English/NOC/2006/Profile.aspx?val=1&val1=1111) doesnt specify if one can have other graduate degree insted of accounting qualifications like CGA, CA, CMA etc.

I have the following qualifications:-

Formal Education:-
Bachelor of Engineering (Information Technology) 4yrs full time

Certifications:-
CISA - Certified Information Systems Auditor
CISM - Certified Information Security Manager
CIISA - Certified Internal IT Security Auditor for BS7799 by Govt of India.

Kindly advise if I can apply as "Computer Audit Specialist" under the category 1111 which can help to expedite the immigration process according to the new Fast Track process.

Thanks & Regards.

just out of curiosity, isn't there a different between financial auditors and computer auditors.

I don't think qualification matter as long as one has experience. I dont know this for sure but this is what i think.

I think that the OP is grasping at straws, here are duties of 1111

" * Examine and analyze journal and ledger entries, bank statements, inventories, expenditures, tax returns and other accounting and financial records, documents and systems of an individual, department, company or other establishment to ensure financial recording accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards, procedures and internal controls
* Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and make recommendations to improve individual or establishment's accounting and management practices
* Conduct field audits of businesses to ensure compliance with provisions of the Income Tax Act, Canadian Business Corporations Act or other statutory requirements
* May supervise other auditors or professionals in charge of accounting within client's establishment.

I can't see CHC finding auditing computers as anywhere near financial auditors.

If such would have not been the case, then why should CIC need to mention "Computer Audit Specialist" in their list of professions related to auditing. Most of the "IT Auditors" come from technology domain & not from financial/accounting education background (as also sought by the employers).

Example titles from category "1111"

chief accountant
claims accountant
CMA (certified management accountant)
computer audit specialist
cost accountant
cost accounting supervisor
departmental accountant
division controller – accounting
field auditor – finances
financial accountant
