Employment verification

Hi,

Regarding the employment verification letter, what happens if the company you once worked for no longer exists? A company I worked for is no longer in operation, so I cannot get an employment letter from them. Can you write a letter to explain the situation? I still have a copy of my contract with them.

Thanks.

Hi, yes you can send them a letter explaining all the situation. They always are in a better position to judge.

Two companies I worked for in the past were out of business, so I sent a copy of my tax payments for the duration I worked there as proof of employment, and a supporting letter explaining that they could no longer be contacted regarding a reference letter.
