Hello,
I am applying to sponsor my common-law partner (who is currently living with me in Canada) and in form imm5589 there is a section requiring that I submit a letter from my employer. However my contract with my current employer is ending at the end of December, and I am in the process of job searching. I am concerned that a letter from my current employer that shows the period of employment as ending December 31, 2024 will not reflect well in the application.
I understand that for spousal and common-law sponsorships there is no minimum financial requirement, however I am concerned that the application may not be accepted because the letter shows my employment as ending. I believe I have enough funds to financially support the both of us while I am searching for my next job. Should I include this letter even though it shows that my contract is ending very soon? Is there anything else that I can include to support my financial situation? Bank statements? Account details?
Many thanks!
