Hello all

Just wondering if anyone knows whether I am legally allowed to have a job in Canada on a visitor visa.

Basically I have had 2 back to back open work permits (IEC) and I am now on a TRV and waiting for a provincial nomination. I have not resigned from my job BUT I have also not been to work and will not be earning any money whilst I do not have a work permit.

Anyone know if this within the rules?

It's illegal to work on a TRV. You need a work permit.

Hey Scylla

Since changing to a visitor visa from a TWP I have not worked. I am now laid off until September which I should have my provincial nomination before then. As long as I don't work and have my valid nomination/work permit before I return is that okay?
