1. I applied under a position of NOC 2141 (A)(work experience gained from 2011-2013) however when I applied for CEC (March 2013), I also submitted my work contract for the job I just started at that time which was classified as NOC 2232 (B). Now the requested Employment Letter refers to NOC 2232 which is skill level B and therefore different from what I have applied originally. Is that something I should be concerned about? At work I performed duties which were also skill A classified.

2. Now here is my dilemma. They want an Employment letter of my current employer, but as of 13th February 2015 my work has ended with my current company (the same day I received this email from CIC). I can still provide them an "Employment letter" of all the details of when and what I was doing there in my profession but would that still be valid and considered.

3. Are there any advice regarding the Employment letter?

4. I do have a new Job offer (in my profession NOC A), which I can attach a Job offer letter as well. Would that be any help?

Thank you everyone for your help!

Hi,
just send them what they have requested you for (updated employment letter). The new job offer is irrelevant now. Don't submit a completely different employment letter than the one which is in your file. Your work duties should be similar as the lead statement of the NOC you have applied under. Wish you good luck.

I don't quite understand what you mean by "lead statement of NOC". Again, as I mentioned earlier. I have applied with my gained experience from NOC 2141 (A) AND also submitted my work contract (at that time JUST started job) which was for a position under NOC 2232 (B). Now CIC is asking for Employment letter for that job (NOC 2232 (B)). I am a little confused sorry

Hi Sweetdreams.

I see you posting a few threads on here and can sense that you are very lost and worried right now.
I understand your position and how you are feeling right now but to be honest with you.. you need to calm down a little bit.

God bless,

Hi,
sorry for my misunderstanding. The problem probably started when you provided the work contract of your new job (which was not relevant) and the VO got confused by that. I would send an explanatory email to CIC.

Hi nov1061,

Now I guess what my next question would be is, does work experience gained during processing time still count for the application? Because in my case I have gained another 1 year of work experience in my NOC 2232 which is however skill B classified. Can you submit more than 1 work experience of different NOC O, A and B. I know NOC D and E is not allowed for CEC.

Thanks nov1061

Only the experiences listed in your application will be considered as your qualifying experience. It seemed that in your situation, your VO is confused due to your recent addition of work contract document for the latest job. Have you requested any GCMS notes? That way we will be able to understand more about your case...

No confusion. When the OP applied for CEC, requirements wer to provide a letter of employment for each position held with in the preceding 3 years. OP apparently held 2 positions but only sent one letter. (Contract doesn't count, and it doesn't matter if it was only a brief time in the second position). Therefore, the file is missing one letter.

And generally, no, you cannot write your own letter of employment. CIC cannot just take your word for it. The purpose is to have a Canadian employer "testify" to your work experience. Doesn't matter if you no longer work there, you should try to get the letter.

Thank you for helping me in elaborating it in a much clearer way. Cheers~

Hi retwant,

As mentioned in my post I have not added my work contract recently. When I applied (back in march 2014) I added all my work experience I have gained at that time. Including the few months of work I just recently started at that time (NOC 2232 (B)).
Yes I have requested GCMS notes and they should be here sometime this week. I've been waiting for almost 30 days now.

Thanks for your help :)

Your application is processed on the base of your experience gained before you applied. So your experience gained during the time your application is in process is irrelevant. My guess is the VO has been confused by the new contract you had added to your application. Never submit any unneeded stuff because it may lead to such confusion as has happened right now. Just send an explanatory email to CIC.
Hi nov1061,

I fully understand that any experience I gained after my application will not be considered (if not filed in application prior submission). However, as mentioned above. I submitted my work contract of NOC 2232 (B) as well in my application right from the start. However during that time I only worked at my new job for a few months. Now during processing time, I still had my job and gained more experience. Will this be still considered or not?

Thanks for your help nov1061

Hi jes_ON,

Again, thank you for your help. Your input is always helpful in this forum and I am pretty sure a lot of people here knows this as well.
And yes, this is correct I originally held 3 positions at that time.
1. 2,5 years NOC A
2. 2 months NOC A
3. 3 months NOC B then applied march 2014 (but kept the work till 13. February 2015)

Yes you are right letter was missing and only work contract was submitted. I can provide the letter from my employer (for NOC 2232 (B)), that should not be a problem at all.

So am I understanding this right, that VO accept the 3 months work experience for NOC 2232. But does VO accept the all the work experience gained in the same position during processing time (with valid WP)?

Thank you so much jes_ON. I know I am difficult.

Yes, the experience before you apply will "count" (as long as it was authorized).

But does VO accept the all the work experience gained in the same position during processing time (with valid WP)?

No, experience after you apply won't count toward your 1 year of experience. But it's good to supply the letter as requested. It may just be some new compliance procedure (CIC just got blasted for its error rates, which included incomplete files), or they may checking your employment vs work permits etc. If you can give them what they ask for, best to just do it.

SweetDreams :)

Thank you : ) And likewise.
