Hi
My wife has an ITA expiring next week(received with 434 points). Most likely will decline that and go into pool as FBI PCC is pending for me.

My question on wife's employment history:
Employed with same employer since 2007 - so total 10+ years of work -ex.

During these 10 years, she took Maternity leave followed by unpaid leave for following durations:
1. In 2010 - Cumulative paid leave + maternity leave for 5 months - followed by 3 months of Unpaid leave
2. In 2014 - Cumulative paid leave + maternity leave for 4 months - followed by 1 year of unpaid leave

The company will give a proof of employment letter stating that my wife was employed continuously from 2007 onwards with no mention of the leave period.

Question 1 - As of now, in her current application, I have claimed maximum points for the employment history (>6yrs of employment) - was I wrong in this? How should we accurately calculate the employment period?

Question 2 - My wife is planning to quit her job to stay at home before we get immigration. So most likely she will be serving her notice period when she receives new ITA(am assuming we will get one in next couple of months based on 430+ points).
Will her being unemployed at time of document submission make her ineligible for PR (or will the visa officer reject her application)?

first things first - submit your application without the FBI PCC - DO NOT go back in the pool unless you cant help it.
If PCC is getting delayed - submit the application without US PCC, add any proof you have saying you already applied for FBI PCC and you didnt get it yet, mention this in the LoE document also. What happens is they do medicals, keep your file on hold till you submit the PCC.

For employment history - you only get points for 3 years, anything beyond that they dont care - so you should be safe

Regarding quitting - you can quit whenever you want, you can be unemployed - they dont care...

in fact if you ask me if you're unemployed for a while they should even consider processing application faster, since chances of you migrating to canada permanently would be a lot faster LOLOL

good luck - and please - submit application ASAP
