A company in BC is hiring me after obtaining a positive LMIA. The job is a high wage stream and not a health services NOC, but the company is in contract with a Canadian Province Emergency Health Services to provide critical support services. The WP application was submitted 15 days ago and I was told it will take 14 calendar days to process. It is now over due by a day. What could be the problem ? I had my biometrics done when I obtained a visitors visa 3years ago, so I believe I will do not need it for the WP processing. Thanks

You know those are just “ average “ processing times , not guaranteed

There's almost certainly no issue. Unfortunately it's very normal for applications not to be processed in the 14 days. We actually see relatively few applications processed within 14 days for high wage. Most take several months. No need to worry. This is perfectly normal.

For high wage it's not actually an average. The 14 days is (or was) the target processing time. However IRCC generally isn't meeting that target by a long shot and hasn't been for quite a while.

The last foreign worker hired just over a year ago for same job, had his work permit processing completed in two weeks. But he is from a different country from mine.

Ultimately it's very normal for processing to take much longer than the 14 days. There's really nothing you can do but wait.
