I'm a foreigner in Canada with an employer-specific work permit, working full-time for the employer on the permit. Now I have been offered some independent contract work with a foreign company (US) to do in my free time. I would not quit my job with my employer.
Am I allowed to take such an offer on the employer-specific work permit?
If not, do I have to get a second work permit, and what kind does it have to be? I can only seem to find ways to renew the same old work permit, or to completely change the work permit (e.g. if I changed employer)...
Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks!
