I'm having trouble getting an employer reference letter from my prior job. I do have a reference letter from my current (past 5 years) employer, however it's proving impossible to contact HR in my former company. I am applying under NOC code 2171 (Systems Analyst) for both the current job and the prior one I am having trouble getting a letter from. The job I'm having trouble getting the letter from is a large corporation and well-known in the computing area (I mention that as I feel it ads credibility to my statement that I qualify under 2171 simply from having worked there).
The employer is large/bureaucratic enough that I simply am finding it's impossible to reach a person in HR. They refer all employment verification to a website which produces an automated document stating the dates I worked there and salary information, but nothing about the duties of the job. The OINP PNP seems to want something that goes more into job duties (states "Positions held, duties and responsibilities during the employment period for each position, and the time spent in each position (if applicable)"). To make matters more difficult, I didn't leave on the best terms with my former manager, and would prefer to not contact her if possible.
What I do have from this job is:
Business Cards
W2 (Tax information) from job
Automated verification of job including dates, salary and title)
I *MIGHT* have the employment contract still - not certain
If I send those things to OINP, is that likely to be enough to satisfy them? Or should I continue investing time into trying to get something listing the job details?
