Hi,

I am sponsoring my spouse for outland PR, and we have no children. I currently have a full time job in IT, but I also have another job where I work as an insurance agent. And I am only paid commission from my insurance job. I have my clientele base, and I do insurance for them, so I just go to the office, whenever my client has time and do his insurance and leave.

My question is, do I still need to get an employment letter from my secondary employer (insurance agent)? But, what will they need to state, because salary is something that varies with this job, as it is commissioned based only, and there are no fixed hours for me. I simply go whenever my client has time.

I make enough with my IT job, so do I still need a letter from my insurance agency? If so, they would not be able to state my regular hours per week, salary (varies). Please advise.

Thank you.

Thank you.
In order to be able to sponsor your spouse, there is no minimum income set by CIC.
You don't even need to be employed anywhere, the only reqirement is: don't be on welfare.
Hope that helps

Thank you for your reply.

But, the Document checklist # 18 says "Proof of employment. If you are employed, provide an original letter from your current employer stating your period of employment, salary, and regular hours per week". Please advise. Thank you kindly.

Just get your employer to write you a letter of emplyment just like is asked from you.
What I'm saying is that you don't have to worry about how much you're making or how long you've worked there or how many hours you work

I also have two jobs. I included formal company letterhead letter of employment and compensation statement from the primary job and a few pay stubs from my secondary job.

The insurance company can write you an employment letter. They will just have to explain what you did here - that there are no fixed hours and that the pay is based on commission.

Thank you Kindly for your response and advice. I got the letter from my insurance company :)

Sorry, there is one more question I would like to ask you. There is a Sponsorship Evaluation form also - IMM 5481, and on this form they are asking about employer address, and supervisor name, so I have mentioned everything related to my IT job here, since there is only space for one employer address.

Can you please advise, if I should attach a separate sheet of paper, and also add my insurance employer's details?

Thank you kindly :)

Please advise. Thank you kindly :)

If you provide the letter of employment, I would also provide the details if I was you.
