Emergency situiation, need help

I am a chinese student who study in US.

I sent my application files to NY office for the Canadia Visa on April 6.

(I have US F-1 by the way)

It's almost a month! But i still did not get anything!

And i Emailed them, they said :

This is in response to your email (see below).

We appreciate your patience. Your file has not been finalized.

As our resources are dedicated to the processing of applications, we are unable to provide case status updates or acknowledge receipt of documents. Once the application has been reviewed and assessed, or if additional documentation is required, you will be contacted by our office in due course.

My flight is May 5th.... I am so so so worried about i can not get my passport back on time!

Members who applied at Buffalo and Seattle took 44 days before they got back their passports with the visas.

Our application was delivered to NYC on March 30. And we've got no feedback so far even after a couple of inquiries. Their website still shows 10 working day for the processing time. Should not have counted on it - now our spring vacation is totally ruined.

Sad but CIC recently updated their computer system and perhaps they are still at the learning phase of the new system.
