Emergency Situation , Tavel to India - Please help

Hi All,

I got my citizenship Nov 2014 last year. However I have not renounced my Indian citizenship & Indian passport.

Currently I am in US.

My parent not feeling well and I have to travel to India now, Please help me with the VISA process.

I heard Emergency visa will be issued only for those who renounced Indian citizenship.
Can I travel with my Indian passport ? I am okay to pay the penalty/fees. But will it impact in future when I apply for OCI ?

you cannot really....you can enter India but the problem will be when you will be leaving India...

you won't have a PR card anyways nor a Visa and you cannot show your Canadian passport there because then Immigration will ask you how did you enter India....

But I believe when you depart you will only need to show your passport to the airline check in agent, so that he/she would no that you are eligible to enter the country, not to passports officer. The passport officers do not check Visas usually. Just a thought.
