Embassy's email reply about changing unis after getting visa

Hi guys,
I contacted the embassy to ask if It is possible to change universities after getting visa and before landing in Canada. They replied "Please advise which province you want to change the university to, Please also provide your document number, full name, date of birth and Passport number"
They did not say another single word. They did not say if it is possible or not. I am kinda scared about it now! And I won't hear from them soon because they are currently closed in my country.

What do you think of the dimensions of their email reply? Is it reassuring or not?

You do not have to contact them. Which intake you are for? If it's September, changing Uni could be difficult (rather very difficult), if it's January, you can give it a try.

Post-secondary student

You may change your school, program and/or field of study without applying for a new study permit. You do not need to apply for a change to the condition of your study permit, either. You may continue to use your study permit as long as it is valid.
If you are changing your level of study (e.g., bachelor’s to master’s), you do not need to apply for a change to the condition of your study permit, either.


You needn't seek any changes in your TRV or needn't contact CIC for changing (if it's under the above mentioned criteria). Except, if you wish to go to Quebec, the process will be the same but with a few changes in the application (requirements of this province)

I got the visa for Fall semester but planning to go to another university in Winter semester, and about this link, I think it refers to students who already have a study permit and are currently in Canada..not students who have only student visa and still did not land in Canada? Am I right?
I also believe they keep a record of the province and university I am supposed to go so I think it would be a problem when the Border Services officer realize that I have another LOA for another university in another province! Correct me if I am mistaken.
And I am not going for Quebec anyways.

Are you seriously mailed them ?
Bro just go and change the University.
In airport they will also ask you few questions.
So no need to say anything about changing university because this sudden change of mind will question you being a bonafide student.

Thank you! Yes I mailed CIC but the did not know who I was! lol! and by saying just go and change the university, do you mean I should go the first university then leave it and go for the new university or just show the new LOA from the new university to the immigration officer? Bearing in mind that the university I want to change to is in another province :/

A new update!!!

The embassy has replied to my email asking them if I need any changes in student visa when I change universities before landing in Canada (study permit has not been issued yet).
"Please be informed that you must apply for CAQ, in case if you will change your university to be in a French speaking province."

Actually their reply is very short, but I think it means I can change universities before landing?
