I don't know if anyone will be able to answer this, but does anyone know how CIC handles voluntary proof sent to them through email? Do they actually print out whatever we send them and add it to the physical file, or do they only keep the soft copy we send them and link that to the application?

The reason I'm asking is because I'm wondering whether the staff actually have to locate the physical file every time we email them something an additional document. I just don't want my emails to add any delays, or worse yet, I don't want to miss my turn when a visa officer comes around to pick up the next application to work on.

They won't pull the hard copy of the file I doubt they actually look at it again remember they scanned everything when they first receive it having said that send them anything doesn't delay anything I don't know where that stupid rumour started from my experience whenever I've sent them something (plane tickets of visits) they email back saying it's been added to the file and when I order my notes I can see in detail what they've done (date my email was received and date when info was added and the officer who made the updates)

I've sent them additional proofs twice. I see it reflected in my GCMS notes.

I email it and mail it.

I think they only scan the application forms, not the proof of relationship. I think the proof is shipped over to the overseas VO in physical format.

Yeah maybe the visa officer won't even look at what I send, but currently there is no visa officer assigned to my application because it hasn't been reviewed yet. I'm just interested in finding out how they add voluntary proof to our files if it's sent via email.

How long does it take them to add the info to your file? Strictly 30 days or can they do it sooner as well?

I couriered name change documents and additional proof to Warsaw. It arrived on a Monday and the names were changed by Friday. I also emailed the same documents both via cs enquiry and direct to the embassy. Got automated responses but no other acknowledgement. On my gcms notes they only refer to the couriered documents.

I was wondering the same...

By email, did you guys email through case specific inquiry or direct email to the respective visa office email address?
