email updates

Hi, I'm curious about their process of updating both sponsor and applicant.

Do both sponsor AND principal applicants get email updates on both sponsorship and immigration process, or each one only gets update to the part that relates to them?

So far I've gotten 2 email updates from CIC, as the sponsor, AOR and SA. Will I be getting updates on the next steps?

Has my sponsored wife been getting the same updates?

Do we get actual mail at any point in the process?

First of all, shouldn't you know if your spouse got any emails/updates or not since you should be communicating almost every day

You only get your own part updates in emails. So as a sponsor you will not receive any emails from CIC after SA.

Your spouse will receive AOR2 and the rest of the updates.

Sadly not...

My spouse (common law partner) is currently not talking to me and has been apparently having second thoughts about us and about moving to Canada. I don't know what to do. I don't want to withdraw the application yet, hoping we'll work things out, but don't wanna invalidate my ability to sponsor in the future either. Don't know if she'll update me when she gets a notification. I guess I'll just have to keep checking the status everyday.
