Dear All,

I inquired about my application status which is stuck at Buffalo, I did my medicals in Mar '09 as well as sent all documents in May'09. When I inquired about it, they reply " Your file is pending State PCC (X2) and Background Checks " - My question is, I have already sent the PCC for me and spouse in April, I am not sure what their reply means and why it says pending PCC?

As far as background checks are concerned, is this normal? I thought they do Security Checks after medicals not background checks but this is a news to me, may be background check is a bigger umbrella under which security checks falls?

Does this information accurate or could be outdated. Please shed some light on this and does this looks normal or should I be worried about this reply?

I will reply back and say that you already mailed them the PCCs to make sure they got it. Background check will take it times depending on how many countries you lived

Yes I did sent a reply letting them know that the PCC is already been sent on such and such date. For background check though I have to wait and wait and wait... Is this to do with the countries I lived in, any affiliation to a extremist group etc. or is it verifying my documents, employer.

Outbound, can you confirm that you sent 2 PCCs from two US States?

No, I sent only One PCC from one US state and that is what was required, they was saying it was missing/pending, but I got a second reply saying that your State PCC was received and your file is being reviewed by Immigration Officer.

I hope the IO decide soon on my app.
