Hi guys,

I recently received an email from CIC stating:

"Please be advised that your file has now reached the final stages of processing. The current validity of your visa is linked to the results of your medical exam which will expire in December.
Could you please advise us if you will be able to land in Canada within this date? If not, please note that new medicals will be required."

I wanted to ask how long my decision will be delayed if I retake my medicals? Also, will I have to retake medicals immediately (I moved countries and currently do not live near an approved medical center)?

If I do not retake, any estimate how long my decision will take considering it is in the final stages?

I would actually prefer delaying (as I will be getting married in 2-3 months and would like to add spouse to my application too) but it will not be possible for me to do the medical exam before 2 months either (as there is no nearby exam center where I currently live).

Looks like your file is finalized and they just want you to re-take medicals. So if you decide to re-take medicals, they will wait till yo submit the confirmation of re-medicals. Usually it does not take that long to get the PPR after you submit the medicals. If you would have to wait for 2 months for medicals, just reply to the email stating the same.

Thank you for the answer Maverick28!

Just wanted to confirm if there's no 30 day limit to get the medical exam done (as is the case for most other requests)?
