Eligible to apply in March 2012 under CEC - need some clarification

Hello,

I will be eligible to apply for my PR under CEC in March 2012. This forum has been very helpful so far!...thanks for that

Can you please answer my questions below?

1. I am married and my wife is in Pakistan, I am not sure how medical and passport requests will work out at the later stage of the application?
2. Are they going to send my wife's case to Islamabad for processing or will it be processed with my application here in Canada?
3. Are marriage certificate and photographs enough as a proof of my wedding? or do I need to provide something else?

Additional info: I am applying under student stream as a principal applicant, and I will have my 1 year work experience completed by March.

Please help me out, any help with this will be greatly appreciated!

Hi - can't answer all your questions, but will do what I can -

Medical: There are designated medical practitioners around the world; all exam reports get forwarded to Ottawa. You don't need to do them in the same place. See http://www.cic.gc.ca/dmp-md/medical.aspx

Passport request will be more difficult. Your file will be submitted initially to CIO-Sydney, but you have to chose a visa office - as of now, you can chose Buffalo, NY USA or ... assuming you are a citizen of Pakistan, London, UK (economic class applications for Pakistan nationals are being processed in London). More below -

2. Are they going to send my wife's case to Islamabad for processing or will it be processed with my application here in Canada?

Your wife does not have a separate "case" - she will be a dependent on your application. If your application is approved, your passports will have to be submitted together to the visa office that processed your application. So you will have to somehow get your wife's passport, and deliver both to the visa office (this can be challenging if you cannot mail your passports, and would need a visa to travel there).

These are the current rules (I believe), but they do change, so you have to keep your self up-to-date by visiting the CIC website...

I also have a question,my husband is in India . So if we get medical he has to complete in India and sent it to Ottawa. How afterthat regarding the visa stamping. Visa office is buffalo. If anybody know the answer ,pls help.
