Hello,
I would like to know when in future my spouse will be eligible to apply for her Canadian citizenship.
Below is the timeline and approximate calculation of days for physical presence.
Now, we might move back to Canada when my job is transferred. How and when she be eligible to apply for her citizenship based on her absence? Is there a limit on how many absence days there can be?
Please advise. Thank you very much!
I would like to know when in future my spouse will be eligible to apply for her Canadian citizenship.
Below is the timeline and approximate calculation of days for physical presence.
- From Oct 2016 to Mar 2017 as a visitor in Canada: 165 total days = approx 80 physical present days in Canada
- Apr 2017 to Nov 2019 as a permanent resident in Canada with a couple of out-of-Canada trips: approx 880 or more days in Canada
- Nov 2019 to Present in the US: 0 days in Canada (first 6 months in the US as a visitor and then on the TN status. She is considered a resident alien here)
Now, we might move back to Canada when my job is transferred. How and when she be eligible to apply for her citizenship based on her absence? Is there a limit on how many absence days there can be?
