Eligibility for PGWP and SOWP???

Hello everyone !

So I am an int’l student and my spouse is on sowp. I’m working in Teer 4 title as accounting clerk for my college, also a chartered accountant from back home, however the job responsibilities match with Teer 1 (11100). My spouse is working in an in demand occupation Teer 2 (72023). Both our permits expire on July 2025.

Now here is my dilemma, I’ll be graduating in April 2025 from a 1+1 pg certificate course. As per my part time job contract I can only work for the campus until I graduate. The day I graduate would be the end of my contract.

I can manage to get a letter from my current Manager stating my experience under teer 1 along with 3 paystubs and apply as a joint application with my husband at the end of April or maybe 1st week of May.

Honestly around April end I will only have my accounting job with teer 4 title but teer 1 responsibilities. There is no other backup plan for me to apply for my spouse. I don’t know if this plan is any good.

What do you guys think the chances of sowp approval are?

This isn’t feasible the job will have ended before you can even apply for PGWP. Also would be very tough to justify that your Tier 4 job involves mainly tier 1 responsibilities. Are you licensed as a CPA in Canada?

No I’m not a licensed CPA in Canada.
But honestly they are teer 1 responsibilities. Not all but meeting at least 50% of it. It’s only the job title that is teer 4.

You aren’t a licensed CPA which is one of the major requirements of the tier 1 accounting jobs. It doesn’t actually matter since the job will end when your studies end so you will no longer be working when you apply for PGWP once you have your proof of completion from the college.
