I received permanent resident status for Canada in 2016

Am 12 years old.

In last 5 years, I lived for 6 months in Canada.

Am currently living in Canada.

My PR card gets expired in January 2022.

My father is a citizen of Canada

Am dependent on my father & mother.

Can my father apply for my Canadian Citizenship?

Ask your parents to go through this and he should be able to apply for Canadian citizenship for you.

If (and only if) you were living abroad with a Canadian parent, that time can be counted towards meeting the Residency obligation for your PR AND physical presence for your citizenship application as far as I know. Were you living abroad with a parent who is a Canadian citizen? If you answer yes to this and you meet other criteria listed in the URL above, your parents can apply for your citizenship under section 5(2).

No, I lived outside Canada with a PARENT, who is not Canadian citizen.
Hmmm, I am not very well versed with applications for minors. Under 5(2) (linked in my previous post), there is nothing that suggests that the minor has to meet the physical presence requirement.

Your father should still be able to apply for your citizenship.

Quick question - Where you born after April 17, 2009 AND was your father a Canadian citizen when you were born (AND was your father born in Canada OR became a citizen of Canada after immigrating here on PR? If yes, then you might already be a Canadian citizen.

Is the minor already a citizen?
A minor born outside Canada to a Canadian parent on or after April 17, 2009, is a citizen by birth if the minor is in the first generation born outside Canada, and the Canadian parent:

  • was born in Canada; or
  • became a Canadian citizen by immigrating to Canada (becoming a permanent resident) and being granted citizenship (also known as naturalization).
