Electronics - to bring or not to bring

Please advise whether we should bring electronics while coming to Canada or not ? In India and Middle East, we have 240 V power supply whilst it is 115V in Canada. So, we would be needing Step up transformer for each electronic to be used. Do people normally use such options or is it wise to buy electronics when you land in Canada ?

It just depends what electric appliances you would be using. I brought my slow cooker and hair clipper from China because the particular brands are not available in Canada. Nonetheless, other things such as TV, washer, dryers, computers were purchased here in Canada, more because of warranty purposes.
