Dear all, Would be happy if anybody who received the ETA can share how many days it took them to receive it after the application?
Did you apply via email or webform?

Thanks a bunch!

Having a Canadian citizen brother doesn't mean you are eligible for an ETA. Only a specific number of countries (European) are eligible. You apply for a visitor visa.

You can't apply for an ETA because you are not eligible.

Your COPR is not a travel document so not sure what you are asking.

What document do I need to travel to Canada? both my visa and COPR are valid until April 15th. Don't I need a Travel authorization letter to board and land in Canada?

You can't travel to Canada unless your COPR was issued prior to March 15, 2020. Was it? Have you applied for and received a travel authorization letter and shown that your travel is essential to see your brother. Even with travel letter, you are not allowed to enter on a COPR. But you can try.

It was issued post March 18th, but I applied for a travel authorization letter to join my brother and I'm awaiting their response. I've seen people on the same boat travel with an ETA as an extended family member.

But you are not from a ETA eligible country. If you get an approved letter then try to travel on your COPR but validating it isn't considered essential travel.

I maybe wrong but i think you are wrong @Naturgrl. Extended family is more than enough reason to get travel authorization. He might be eligible and will indeed get permit to travel and otherwise he could also travel since he already have valid visa. There is no way until you try and get your result. We already have had multiple posts who tried and got the permit.
Stating that please @Yassinesnit do your research before making any decision to travel.

It would be great if we could tune down if/maybes with a disclaimer if we are entirely not sure our advice's are reliable in this time of uncertainty.

Thanks very much

Thanks very much @asdq45 for your note. It's very assuring. I applied for an ETA. I know a lot of people who received it under the extended family member exemption.
