Hi All,
Just been back to Van for an interview and was surprised (more cause I never seen them before) to see the electronic border system in use. I must admit, I love it! So easy to scan PR card, then customs declaration, and then proceed straight through the border officals. Makes life so much easier.
I do suspect that it might throw up some new problems for those who don't forefill the various obligations required for PR! The system must store information and cross check, more reliable than human checking perhaps? But for speed of processing, I think it's a great idea!!
This is more of a statement of how I found the system, but if people want to start a discussion thread about it I wouldn't mind ;D
One question it did throw up, I travelled via the States and my flights were booked on my Irish passport. I had to get my Irish passport stamped both times I entered the States (on my way to Canada, then on my way back to Ireland), therefore I left Canada on my Irish passport? Does this possibly mean that my PR card has me registered coming into Canada and not leaving!? Could I be accuring days while not in the country!?
