EI for foreign worker?????

hi,
good day to all, I just wanted to know if my husband can file for an EI? his work permit just expired last OCtober 23, 2010 and he is now looking for work, but while he is looking for work can he file for an EI?can a temporary foreign worker like him can file for that ?

No he cannot claim EI. His status in Canada, once the work visa expires, is just as a visitor. This means no Canadian benefits, including medical coverage etc.
