EI - Financial Assistance ?

If canadian PR is applying for spousal PR & there's gap of 2 weeks between old and new job and have been unemployed and eligible for EI. If he takes EI, will that be considered as financial assistance ? Will there be any hindrance in Spousal PR application due to taking EI ?

1. You don't need a like. EI is an insurance scheme, you pay into while you are working and collect when you are unemployed.
