Dear all. I am an Egyptian pharmacist that's currently residing and working in Bahrain and I have applied through the Federal Skilled Workers Immigration program.

My timeline is as follows:
Date on which I received my ITA: 26th of November 2015
Date on which I finalized and uploaded my documents and received my AOR: 9th of January 2016
Date on which I passed my medical tests: 17th of January 2016
Date on which I was asked to sign/upload a "Schedule A Declaration Background" and then I uploaded it on the same day: 18th of January 206
Date on which the CIC said that they had started on my "Background check: 24th of February 2016

It's been 7 months as to this date and I have not heard of or seen a single update on myCIC account. What happens next? How long does it take until they request the PPR?

I kindly await everyone's feedback. :)

Hi,

Have you requested your GCMS notes? If so, what's your application status as per your GCMS notes?
Please check your primary visa office mentioned in the notes and contact them for a status enquiry/update on your file.

Hi Yousf,

Raising a CSE is initiating contact with your appropriate Visa Office to follow up/inquire about your file. This usually gets things moving if for some reason, it has been abandoned, or forgotten about. It is completely free and can be done online.

Requesting GCMS is a different thing: Requesting case notes (basically your entire file and its updates) from CIC, which will show you in detail, how your file has progressed, and what stage it is now. The notes are a little complicated to read, but by doing some reasearch, mostly on threads here in this forum, you may get a clearer idea on what's going on. Notes are usually $2 or $3 if requested from Canada. But since you live abroad, you have to request them through a Canadian company such as http://www.gcmsnow.com/ - which costs around USD 25.

Good luck!
Mohamad

You can use the link Mohamad has provided above or you can use the following one:
http://www.visafile.info/

There are many options, just google "Request GCMS" and it will give you a few options, you can choose the one you like. You can also request your GCMS file by giving your details to someone in Canada (a friend or a relative, for example).

Regarding the Case Specific Enquiry, use this form;
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/contacts/web-form.asp

If you want to call IRCC Call Center (from outside Canada) and talk to an agent, use this number;
