EEPNP in progress but needs security screening - can I apply BCPNP at the same time?

Hello dear friends,

I'm currently in the midst of an EEPNP application process, and I've been fortunate to receive an additional 600 points through the BCPNP - International Postgraduate stream. This has resulted in my receiving an ITA a couple of months ago, and I promptly submitted my application and received an AOR.

However, my EEPNP application is now subject to a security screening. From what I understand, this process could be quite time-consuming, and I'm concerned about the potential delays.

Given this situation, I'm considering whether I can simultaneously apply for the BCPNP - International Postgraduate stream as a stand-alone application, separate from the EE process.

Has anyone experienced this scenario before? Is there any possibility of applying for BCPNP independently while having an ongoing EEPNP application under security screening? Any insights, advice, or references to relevant guidelines would be incredibly helpful.

I greatly appreciate your assistance!

I don't think it's possible to get two nominations from the same province. But wait for others to respond. Also note that your second application will have to go through the same security screening so not sure the second application will really help your situation.

Thank you for the reply. I did some research myself, seems like applying for both EE-PNP and regular (previously paper based) PNP is not possible:

https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/is-it-possible-to-have-two-active-provincial-nominations-same-province-ee-and-paper-based.754328/

However, seems like having two applications of regular EE and regular PNP is OK: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/threads/could-i-apply-for-pr-under-both-express-entry-and-pnp-at-the-same-time.328294/page-2

Seems like I need to wait. just want to clarify, do you know any doc that supports "our second application will have to go through the same security screening"? I heard some case that someone got security screening in PNP application, he applied for CEC instead, and got approved without security screening. That's not someone I personally know, just heard about it somewhere I can't remember for sure. I may have wrong impression, but just want to get some solid answer to that one.

If it’s BC PNP , you can’t apply two applications at same time however you can certainly apply for CEC and express entry PR . BC PNP doesn’t support two nominations at same time. If you want to apply for another application, you have to withdraw your current nomination

Yes, you are right that you can have a PNP application and a separate CEC or regular EE application.

All applicants go through security and background checks. CEC applications are not exempt from this.

@scylla , @armoured @canuck78 , Does anyone know how long is the comprehensive security screening results are valid for? I tried to search but not able to find related information. Also if 2 PR application under different programs are in processing, can the security results from the first one be used in the 2nd application or IRCC initiate a new separate SS for that? some articles suggest it might be used to avoid duplicated efforts if within same time frame.
