Hi Guys,

I hope everyone is doing well and excited for the next draw.

I have few questions regarding my EE profile. Could someone please enlighten me about these points.

1. My husband is a Canadian citizen. How do I exclude him on my EE profile? There is a question "Is your spouse accompanying you in Canada?" Should I answer "no" to this question? Will they require his documents post-ITA? What documents should we prepare?

2. How do I get the sibling points in EE? There's a question under relatives in Canada - "Does applicant have a relative who is a citizen or permanent resident of Canada? (The relative must be 18 or older and living in Canada.)? In this case, I do have lots of Canadian citizen relatives which is my husband, my mom and dad, my grandmother, my uncles and aunts, and also my sister. Should I choose "sister/brother" to be able to get the sibling points? Or should i should my husband so CIC knows that my husband does not need to be in my application? I am really confused about this?

3. As I mentioned that my husband is Canadian citizen, does he needs to get upfront medical exam as well? I booked my upfront medical on Sep 21, 2017. I would like to know if he also needs one.

4. I am hoping to qualify in EE Canadian Experience Class I started working on Sep 6, 2016. What is the best date to apply? The whole year I worked for 40 hrs/week except for the week mentioned below. I counted the weeks from Sep 6, 2016 till date minus the one week unpaid leave and it looks like that tomorrow, Sep 8, 2017, i have completed my 52 weeks. Do you think it is safe to submit my EE profile tomorrow or should I wait till next Friday?

Nov 28 - Dec 2, 2016 (exactly one week) - vacation not paid
May 22 - May 29, 2017 - paid vacation

5. I already have a AINP PNP application submitted in January 2017. I received my AOR in March 2017, paid my landing fee upfront. My question is should I pay again landing fee (if luckily i received an ITA) for my express entry application so it won't delay the processing? I need suggestions.

6. Lastly, I checked in CIC website the proof of funds required. Since there are 2 people in my application (my son and I), do I need to show at least $15,312 or $$18,825 for 3 people (my son, husband and I). Honestly, we only have $12,000 CAD in our savings account so that's what I put in my EE profile. Should I worry about this since I am hoping to be qualified in EE CEC stream?

Thank you in advance for all your replies. It is greatly appreciated. Have a nice day.

Hi denyl182002,
I can only answer a few of your questions, so I hope others will chime in to help:

For question 4, vacation periods aren't taken into account so you don't need to worry about this. They will start counting from the effective start date of your employment and, assuming you remain in the job, count up to present day.

For question 6, if you get an invitation under CEC, then you don't need to show any proof of funds. If you include $12,000 in your profile, the only thing that will happen is that you won't qualify for the Federal Skilled Workers Stream (assuming you qualified for it otherwise). But this isn't really an issue as I have yet to see/hear of a recent draw where FSW stream was given ITAs and CEC stream wasn't... You could put $0 and it would be fine, if you're going this route. Keep in mind that if you put $12,000 and get an ITA under CEC, the electronic application will ask you for documents to prove the funds (a system glitch maybe, unless they've corrected it), but you can just upload a letter stating you don't need to provide proof because you were invited under CEC.

Thanks so much crescent_jam for your reply. Can I borrow some funds from my parents just to be safe?

Let's not use the word 'borrow' as you can't borrow funds for EE.FSW stream :) Your parents can help you out (by 'giving' not 'lending') but you'll need to show a Gift Deed to prove that your parents aren't expecting the money back. If you're expecting an ITA under CEC then, honestly, it's a lot more work than it's properly worth... the letter pointing to the fact that you're applying under CEC would suffice. In fact, I believe that's the specific instruction IRCC actually gives on its website somewhere.
