Hi All,

I just received my online ECA report and already have Ielts report with me. I am still awaiting for my spouse's ECA, I do have her Ielts score.

My question - Can I go ahead and create my EE profile without spouse's ECA and will I be able to update the same after receiving her report after profile submission?

My Current points without my spouse's ECA as per CRS calculator is coming as 457 and I do not want to miss any future draws while waiting for her ECA report.

Kindly share your thoughts.

Yes you can create the profile and get into the EE pool without having spouse's ECA since it isn't a mandatory requirement. And you can update your profile later even after getting an ITA.

All the best!

Thank you for your prompt reply Asivad, it's just that I have read in this forum over various threads that people have faced issue while trying to update and have to delete and create a new profile!

So please confirm, if this could be a system glitch or it's the standard procedure for updating.

I am really hoping that I may get clear the cut off considering the last 2-3 draw's trend.

The only occasion people deliberately withdrew profiles and created them again was in June because Ontario launched its PN program with a weird proviso that only profiles created after 1st June would be considered for selection. At that time, there were a whole host of issues with withdrawal of profile and creating a new one simply because no one had done it before that and it was a new process altogether. Of course, now it is fully understood and people no longer suffer with that.

In your case, there isn't going to be a profile withdrawal but profile updates which is far more common (I've done it myself including some fields post ITA just to test). EE profile creation is a 2 step process - Step 1 is information input and Step 2 is transmitting that information to the pool. Your profile won't be considered till you finish both the steps. What that means is you can safely do Step 1 for now and do Step 2 only when you are fully ready with your profile.

Relax, create your EE profile now and get into the applicant pool whenever you feel like.

All the best!

Hi Asivad, so by creating profile I meant to enter in the pool too so that I am eligible for the next draw, if I clear cut off then great otherwise I am sure I will have my spouse's ECA ready for the updation soon after that.

I know I am being a little impatient (because of no clear trend in points cut off trend) and I am guessing soon the cut off's will again shoot up as PNP nominations come into effect.

So is it advisable to enter the pool now? and will I be able to update profile after entering into pool?

I want to avoid recreating a new profile at a later stage and also due to financial reasons, probably I would not be applying for any PNP, so these normal draws are my only chance.

Thanks

Like I said, you can edit your profile till you get an ITA and some portions of it even after that.

Go ahead and create your profile now - there is no downside to it.

I have a question. I've already submitted my EE profile, Job bank = Accepted, EE Profile Status = Open.

I entered in the profile that I'm married and have 2 additional dependents including spouse and 1 child. However I chose not to include points for Spouse, because she has no IELTS scores and no ECA for education.

My question is - Later when my wife gets her scores and ECA, who do I update my profile? In what section will these have to be updated?

Or do I have to withdraw my profile and create a new one that includes points for spouse?
