For EE application, there is the question for
"Standing at the end of study period"

Which has three options:
A. In good standing but no certificate or diploma or degree awarded
B. Certificate or diploma or degree awarded
C. Not completed

I finished my Master's this year December 2023 - I got my transcript and got WES to certify that it is indeed equivalent to a Canadian Master's degree. However, my graduation ceremony is in May 2024, and they will only confer the degree + testamur there and then.

When I tried submitting with Option A + listing my Bachelor's and Master's degrees, my points for education was knocked down. The total score should be 481, but instead it gave me 474.

The 474 is because my Master's wasn't counted in the CRS Calculator. What should I do?

So I had explained before as well to someone that option A means one is still studying, that is why the low score. Even though you haven't received your degree or attended your convocation doesn't means you haven't finished your studies.

Fearful of misrepresentation. I don't have my testamur on hand - I don't really care about the ceremony, that I agree with you. But when IRCC sends an ITA, or when I am required to produce documents to substantiate, I only have WES and my Transcript. No degree.

That'll need an LOE to explain my situation - the Immigration Officer can still reject me and/or worse, they can ban me for 5 years for misrepresentation.

What did you send WES to get your assessment? Don't you have any doc saying you have completed your degree?
From what I know usually the Uni issues paperwork that you can use in the meantime you get final docs.
If WES has done your assessment it should be acceptable as WES is considered one of the most stringent ECA body.

WES requested for me to send them via My eQuals - I have done so and it is electronic. The document they looked at was my Transcript. So they gave me a Master's equivalent to Canada.

In this case, I will try to get more documents to subtantiate. What do you think, Taranji?

Oh got you....
You can print the paperwork from account and submit it. Along with it you can attach a letter explaining that. But I don't think it would be an issue since WES has approved that.
Did you got ITA or not as yet?

Hi @Kahl Lee

You should also get a letter from your university where they can mention that you have completed the course and all the requirements for the degree certificate and just that your physical degree will printed on the day of convocation. And then mention in your letter of explanation also that you are including this letter from the university.

No ITA yet - just in the pool. The reason I ask now is in anticipation for an ITA because I'm in STEM with 481 now. Based on previous data, I am likely to get a call up in the next STEM draws IF the count is greater than 4,500 invitees.

I do have my WES ECA approved and the document (digital and physical) with me. I also have a Proof of Qualification which reads:

"This is to confirm that on 6 December 2023 the above named student successfully completed the academic requirements of the Master of XXXXX at XXXX University.

Upon application to graduate, the award will be conferred at the next available graduation ceremony.

The student commenced the Master of XXXXX on 12 February 2023 and was enrolled as a full time student.

Instruction for the course was conducted entirely in English."

Is the Proof of Qualification sufficient then?

I think this would be fine...
Everything is clear as you quoted the letter.
